In this lesson, students will be drawing and painting their self-portrait in the style of playing cards. Students will have the creative freedom to transform themselves into royalty as they focus on the elements of art and the principles of design.Inspired by Islamic culture and art, students will be creating radial symmetrical design. Students will develop their printmaking techniques, as they transfer abstract designs onto a square linoblock and carefully carve the negative space using a special tool called a gouge. Students will then print them repeatedly on paper of their choosing, as they focus on the elements of art and the principles of designs.In this lesson, students will create ceramic sculptures inspired by their favorite meal. Students will explore various artists that use food as their inspiration including, Peter Anton and Shay Aaron. Students will create food-inspired artworks, while focusing on the elements of arts and principles of designs. |
